There are many things that can affect the pristine beauty of the rivers of our area.
This page is dedicated to those problems and the damage that they cause affecting the rivers in many different ways.
Gravel mining has the potential to threaten water quality as well as aquatic and riparian habitats within the watershed. The negative impacts of gravel mining have been shown to include channel deepening, sedimentation of downstream habitats, accelerated bank erosion, the formation of a wider and shallower channel, the lowering of the floodplain water table, and channel shift (Roell 1999).
